Heidi Zeiger studied photojournalism, art and women's studies at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She later assisted Brooklyn-based photographer Eugene Richards, working on his book Stepping Through the Ashes, an elegy to those lost on September 11 in New York City. Her love of photography and human interest stories have taken her to Jordan, Hong Kong and the former Soviet state of Georgia.

"Film itself is a fragile thing, something that requires care and attention. It’s sensitive to light, heat, cold. When someone allows you to photograph them, the same fragility is present."

Zeiger's camera allows her into the lives of others, to capture the surprise of their emotions, responses, and relationships with each other. She photographs people in their own environment, with an affection for natural light that reveals her subjects with sensitivity and honesty.

Zeiger is currently available for weddings, portraits and photojournalism assignments. She can be reached via e-mail or phone.
